Just when I was thinking of selling mine, Rogar goes and gets one. Maybe I'll keep it around to see what you come up with!
I'd love to be able to use my 6-90 on that thing.
As far as DS8 film, Schwind seems to be the best price across the board. For "messing around" check out the Fomapan B&W. $15 for 100' raw, $17 to process and slit at wood's.
$32 bucks for 200' of S8. Nice.
And Roger, I'm not sure, but check the pins on the connector by the grip. I'm not sure, but I think one may be spitting out the flash sync. Mine was modded w/ a screw connector on the body, really close to that jack. Looks like they may have tapped a line from there.

The Canon DS8 had an optoinal sync output. "Optasound" i think it was called. the Scoopic MS had optional crystal. i don't know if you can crysatal the DS8 or not.

Right, but this isn't the opatsound. That's up top, near the battery compartment.

Do you mean that Cinechrome is actually K25 that has been repackaged and is made by Kodak as well?
</font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>
That's my understanding. Kodak sells K25 to re-spoolers like John Schwind who then markets it as Cinechrome 25. Re-spooled Ektachrome 125 becomes Cinecolor 125 and Plus-X 50 becomes Cine-X 50. In this way Kodak distances itself from the re-spooler's product. If you have problems with re-spooled film your gripe is with the re-spooler, not Kodak.
I'm pretty sure that's the way things are. The way to confirm it would be to ask John Schwind or some other re-spooler. It sounds reasonable though because Schwind has been circulating his petition to have Kodak continue making K25. If he had another source, why would he care?
These are the only three emulsions that Kodak makes available to the re-spoolers by the way.

Hmmm. Then I wonder why he also lists K25 double super 8?

I agree but I've left a couple of messages and he hasn't returned my call. I'll maybe try emailing him and see if he'll respond to that. Of course, he may just be out of town or something. Thanks for the info.
